Comedy Open Mic - Round 5
Hi All,
Welcome to the Fifth week of The Comedy Open Mic Contest. Please read the contest rules here
Rules for Judges
- Contest will run for a minimum of 8 weeks, and will continue to run as long as it is sustainable.
- Prizes to be sent out within 24hrs of contest round closing
- @comedyopenmic will announce start and end of every round (approx 4am GMT Fridays, this will be adjusted if needed)
- Judges will do their best to review all entries
- Every effort will be made for @comedyopenmic to upvote all entries
- A big thank you to @idikuci for his time and effort in upvoting everybody and ensuring @comedyopenmic spread the upvote love in round 4.
- This week @dandesign86 and @dj123 will share control over the @comedyopenmic account to upvote and comment on contestant's entries.

Do you want to be a judge?
Read all the entries, comment on contestant posts. Leave a positive trail of happiness and laughter behind you like you fart laughing gas and we will notice. Our most active curators and contestants will be asked to join us as guest judges on a week to week basis.
Prizes
- Court Jester will get 35SBD
- Court Jester will be chosen by the judges
- People's champion will get 1-10SBD (Payout depends on value, higher value post will get smaller prize. Remaining value to be handed out to other entrants).
- People's champion is whoever has highest $ payout at competition close
- Top 10 prize pool is 20Steem
- A contestant with a entry that gets onto our Top 10 list will receive 2Steem.
- Lucky Door Prize will be 5SBD
- 5 lucky contestants will get a 1SBD each as a bonus prize.
- If you your entry is a Dtube stand-up of yourself and you take out either people's champion or Court Jester, a judge will upvote 1 of your posts 100% every day for 7 days.
- Entrants who resteem the Contest announcement or other people's entries will ensure a higher vote

Plagiarism
If you believe someone has submitted a plagiarised entry, please let the judges know. You can let us know on the discord channel or as a reply to one of our comments. As long as contestants make an effort to produce original content and provide sources for other material we will be happy to accept the entry.

I told the other judges that I would convince you to make an entry this round or I would eat my own dick. Please don't let that happen because it would hurt and I wouldn't even get full and satisfied.

We're doing ok, but still not big enough to be self sustaining, we're giving most of @comedyopenmic upvotes away to recognize talents, what remains each week is about 12SBD, so the rest of us donate about total of 40 to 43 SBD weekly to cover the prizes, if there is anymore that you can do whenever you see @comedyopenmic comments, it would make a big difference.

it almost reads as 'filth week' hmmm. maybe a theme week is in the cards
trust me...having a theme has already been in discussions amongst the judges, we're just waiting now for the number of participants to grow big enough so we can start playing around with new ideas, even new branches of COM (care to consider leading COMSpanish senior?), or even just do some crazy stuff like bonus
filth/ marriage / work / steemit / etc...themesAlas number of judges didn't quite think we are ready for the 'filth-ques' and also other non PG-13 stuff that yours truly suggested, still i do agree we need to first have a bigger audience, from that we will surely have a greater appreciate the darker side of things :P

well i hope you enjoy comedy as much as you make them, try to enjoy many entrant this week, upvote those you enjoy, resteem what you really like that you think isn't getting attention, and most important leave encouraging comments for everyone even those who are not so funny but could do with a pointer or encouragement, participation is important for all the judges, gotta lead by example right?

you start making a difference when you're small, almost everyone one here and almost all the judges are minnows (I was the only dolphin when #comedyopenmic started....but does it even matter?), everytime you visit one of the the entrant, have a laugh, upvote and leave an encouraging or even better a comment, or even way better a funny comment, you're already making a big difference @sayee!
