The Bimbo Boob Mobile ... DooDah ..... DooDah

Pasadena, California has the most popular and flamboyant DooDah Parade of all. It happens on random dates, usually in the fall or winter. You aren't too late this year to enjoy it on November 20th on Colorado Blvd. https://pasadenadoodahparade.info/
The event has been copied by the Columbus, Ohio, Ocean City, New Jersey, and Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The idea of the parade was conceived in 1978 by several friends who wanted to pay an irreverent tribute to the posh, snooty-ness of the Pasadena Rose Parade. (I can attest to that ..... I have participated in both parades.)

Traditionally, the Rose Parade is held on January 1st but it does not happen if January 1st falls on a Sunday because the area churches complained that their parishioners couldn't park. Oh no! So Peter Apanel, Ted Wright, Charles "Skip" Finnell and a few others decided that it would be fun to have an different type of parade that year on January 1st and that is how the DooDah Parade began.

Basically, the DooDah is a very disorganized, spontaneous and eclectic march down Colorado Blvd.

Groups like Scottie and the Hankies, Men of Leisure, Drunk in the Garage Band, Thorney Roses, Count Smokula, The Radioactive Chicken Heads are among some of the participants, including a lot of dressed up dogs, zany disruptors, artistically painted vehicles and merrymakers.

Anyone can participate for a fee of $10.00.

Those viewing the parade also come dressed in costume as well.

This year's parade in Pasadena is ready to shake up the Blvd. at 11 AM-ish on November 20th. Some of the entrants at the Pasadena Event are the beer-boosting rockers of Drunk in the Garage Band, Unich Band, Bearded Ladies, Partying Parrotheads, Nut Camp and many more.

The parade was highlighted The Wall Street Journal and named by Readers Digest as “America’s Best Parade.” (Did you hear that Rose Parade?) It was recently featured in the book "50 Places You Must Visit Before You Die".

And they claim that not a single rose was harmed to make this the most fun-est parade on record.
