Does your Facebook job still say you are a Steemit Blogger, a year later? Cause mine does! (Ps. Invite your friends!)

in #comedy7 years ago (edited)

About a year ago, Steemit launched. And many of us thought switching our job titles to Steemit Blogger was a great idea, but how many of you kept it?

So not only do my friends think I work full-time at Steemit.com as a blogger and get to see this anytime any of the 1,000 or so people come to my profile, they also get to see I'm a self employed individual which leads them to believe Steemit is supporting me, which it sort of is honestly, well crypto in general at least. Even though I run a website design business and have clients that pay me well, I choose to keep advertising Steemit.com over my own business, know why? It's the more worthwhile and beneficial thing in the long run, in my opinion. I would rather someone else find out about Steemit and sign up than let people know I sell websites, because why not?

So what are you waiting for? Join the club and become a professional Steemit writer, you're hired! :p

The more users we have on Steemit the better it is for not only them, but the entire network, so go out and tell people about this awesome secret website we have here! It's time to share it and get people into Steemit which just so happens to be the easiest crypto currency to get into and doesn't require any financial investment on their end unless they choose. So channel your inner crypto enthusiast and go sign up your friends, colleagues & family, what do they have to lose? Besides, who says 1 Steem isn't worth $1,000 5 years from now? Seems like a great time to start investing to me!

Soon enough we'll have Twitter/Instagram/YouTube & Forums competitors also powered by the Steem blockchain as well, which give you even more reason to tell them before this entire thing starts to go totally parabolic...

What do you guys think? Is it prime time to get crypto newbies into Steemit again? The price is up, the interest is up, Bitcoin is full on bull mode and the entire ecosystem seems to be going nuts....

Dang accidentally put this into comedy! oops! This is NOT a joke people lol sorry.

Well I certainly laughed but not in the this is a joke way more like the I'm in the right place. (Laughs at people who think crypto-currency is a waste of time)

Thanks for this reminder and suggestion. After reading this I went to my FB profile just to see what I had there ( I haven't edited it in forever just not something I've kept up with lol ) - Anyways first thing listed was "shot girl at the Barn" LOL - a temp night gig I took years ago to help out a friend. I have not one thing about any of the consulting work I've done in the Cryptosphere the last few years! Shame on me I know, I guess I've been too busy learning and actually working to update any of my profiles across the board lol... But no more excuses, I'm on it - thanks again for the reminder!

Thats why I wrote it! It's such an easy way to promote Steemit and most people don't even care about this field on their Facebook! I'm glad I could remind atleast 1 person :D

Good point, but who will be using facebook in the future? ;-)

It's going to be a looong slow crumbling of Facebook so I say we're safe for now :P

Only one issue with this as far as I can see, which is that some people already think of Steemit as some kind of "Buzzfeed" that employs people. I get that a lot when linking on other sites.

Meh there are much worse things on the internet than peoples ill informed opinions :P

True.... I think at least.

I've not gotten that response from anyone yet, but it's better than what I usually hear lol - "Scam scam scam!"
( I'm the queen of skeptics so at one point myself included lol - please no one take offense, there's just so many out there ) UGH - But now that word is used as much as "blockchain" and it's beginning to lose it's meaning in the same way to me. I'm ready to get to the bottom of these experiments...If anyone has experienced a tangible positive impact on their life from using this platform, PLEASE contact me so we can share. If it can help even one more person I'll have considered this a worthwhile test.

We are working together here. After a week of actively Steeming, I find myself changing as a person. We do what we do for our own advantage, but in order to gain from our efforts, we have to help each other get ahead, to make our own efforts more profitable. It's a great motivation to act in a kind and respectful manner while seeking steemit riches.

This is a response I wrote to @arsenal49 a short while ago.

I haven't even seen a tangible financial reward so far, yet I find the challenges of using this platform force you to be a good person.

Citing other peoples' work. Writing in a grammatically correct fashion. Doing your best to make your blogs have an appealing look. These are all attributes of a polite society. Not what you see on Twitter or Facebook. All you see on those sites are half speak and intentional dumbing down of society. So yes I see value from my experience on Steemit and that has nothing to do with money.

I like it, money isn't the only end goal :)

Thanks, it's kinda cool to travel back and see what 7 day steemit wakeupsheeps was writing. Money is the byproduct of being a good steemian.

Yes I've had those as well, but they're easier to ignore so far. But this could be changing as you say.

If anyone has experienced a tangible positive impact on their life from using this platform, PLEASE contact me so we can share.

Maybe you should check with @jsantana. Jammerson who lives in financially troublesome Brazil recently bought a laptop with his Steem rewards. I think someone here bought a plane ticket just a few days ago too, but I'm not sure who that was.

Heyy thanks! I will reach out, I want to focus on the positive aspects of this platform and meet actual users within the community :)

Thanks, I will!

She said RAD lol, gotta Follow you just cause of that :) Plus your handle is giving me goosebumps lol, what do you do??

Thank you! I always kinda used it as a badge of honor being an early adopter and all..

Well, I'm not too late. I feel like 1 year young is still a toddler!

Exactly! Steemit has soooo many years of growth ahead.

Awe, you're so sweet!!! Are you asking me what I do or the author of this article?

I had never thought of it... Thanks!

Haha, good idea! If I still had my Facebook I would have changed it over. Hopefully soon there will be more people on Steemit than on Facebook and it will merely be an antique of the past.
