Elephant wins. In a one on one fight on land or shallow water the croc doesn't have a chance. The elephant is too big and strong. If the elephant doesn't step on the croc and crush him, the elephant will skewer the croc and make a croc-a-bab out of it.
This is very easy to predict. Inwlhave watches the gator devour the elephant many times on documentary channels. Could the elephant gave something new up his sleeves today? I doubt. So my vote goes for the gator .

In theory the elephant is so powerful and can easily wrap this up. But since the arena is partially flooded and the gator can hold it's breath under water for about 15 mins.
The gator comes out every now and then and strikes the elephant and gets back into the water. He injures the elephant with each strike and finally kills it.
in water i would say gator will give a good fight and might defeat elephant
but in land it is already over for gator
i think it will be tough to decide where they gonna fight
