A new companion to walk with every half hour or so
Not only a companion
But a furry friend that has been waiting all day
For you to arrive
When they see you they get so excited
You forgot the pain
You forget the aches and blisters
On your feet
From walking and hiking for hours
Because at the end of the day
This is what you’ve always wanted
This is your reward
That final walk by the river as the sun goes down
This is what you walk for
