Colour Association 颜色联想

We are living in a colourful world. It would be very different if it has only one colour. In the past, we did not have colour photo but only black and white photograph. Ever since colour photos are available widely, few people would go for the black and white unless they like to recapture what was past.
Therefore, colour has helped to beautify our world.

Beside beauty, the significance or implication of a colour is associated with different cultural perspective. As for the Chinese, white colour is associated with sad news, whereas, red colour signifies happy occasion. For example, during the Chinese New Year, wedding and birthday celebrations, money is placed inside the red packet (红包) or envelopes to be given out to signify the happy occasion. However, money may be wrapped with white paper to indicate an occasion of sadness such as somebody has passed away.

Different people have their preferred or favourite colour. My wife likes purple colour, whereas, my favourite colour is blue. In ancient Israel, purple colour is for the royalty. Therefore, the purple colour can remind us that we are wonderful creation. And we should neither despise ourselves nor other people. Purple colour can remind us that we are precious. I like blue because the sea is blue. And the blue sea is linked to the blue sky apparently. The blue sky reminds me there is the great and gracious creator, whom many people have acknowledged Him as the Lord God.

我们是生活在一个有色彩的世界。如果世界只有一种颜色，将会非常的不同。过去，我们只有黑白照片而没有彩色照。自从彩色照片变得广泛，除非有人喜欢重新捕捉过去的东西，否则很少有人会选择拍摄黑白照片。
的确透过颜色可以美化了我们的世界。

颜色除了有美化作用，颜色根据不同的文化观，也有不同的含义。至于中国人，白色常和悲哀的事情有关，而红色则象征幸福。例如，在农历新年、婚礼和生日庆祝场合，将钱放在红信封内，又稱着”红包”以表示欢乐。然而把钱用白纸包裹，则表示哀伤，例如纪念某人已经去世。

人有各自喜欢的颜色。我的妻子喜欢紫色，而蓝色则是我的喜爱。在古代以色列，紫色是属于尊贵的群体。因此，紫色可以提醒我们，我们是奇妙的创造。我们不应该轻视自己，也不应该小看其他人。紫色可以提醒我们，我们都是宝贵的。我喜欢蓝色，因为大海是蓝色的。根据视觉，蓝色的大海与蓝天是联系在一起的，蓝天让我想起那位伟大而慈爰的创造者，许多人也承认祂是主，祂是神！
