Stained Glass Windows.

This is my entry for the Colourful Photography challenge curated and sponsored by @juliank and @photocontests.

These glorious windows beautify a 90 square metre area inside St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. These four huge panels came about after member's of St Paul's accepted a suggestion from Mr. Mal Just, (their architect) to incorporate them into the northern wall of their proposed new church in 1957.

This was a brave and courageous decision and the pastor at the time, Rev. Les Grope developed a spiritual theme using twelve medallions which form the centre pieces of this display.

A local firm by the name of E. J. Moss was given the task of manufacturing these windows and it took nine months to complete the project. Plaques placed adjacent to each medallion provide detailed explanations of each medallion; such as The Crown of Thorns which symbolizes the Crucifixion, The Chariot of Fire, which symbolizes the Ascension and The Angus Dei (Lamb of God) symbolizes the Resurrection. The windows cost ten thousand pounds in 1957.
