The Glorious Color of Orange

It has been only the past few years that I really began to see and appreciate the color of ORANGE. When I was growing up I don't remember seeing it so much except in the fall for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Fall has always been my favorite time of year so I liked it. The '60's came along and clothes got loud with hot pink, lime green and bright orange. Then in the '70's, Orange popped up as the "new" color along with Harvest Gold and Avocado Green. It was popular because we came out of appliances being stark white in the kitchen. As time passed, I never gave much thought to what energy and beauty the color Orange gives off.

Orange increases oxygen supply to the brain, produces an invigorating effect, and stimulates mental activity. It is highly accepted among young people. As a citrus color, orange is associated with healthy food and stimulates appetite. Orange is the color of fall and harvest. In heraldry, orange is symbolic of strength and endurance.

Orange has very high visibility, so you can use it to catch attention and highlight the most important elements of your design. Orange is very effective for promoting food products and toys.

Red-orange corresponds to desire, sexual passion, pleasure, domination, aggression, and thirst for action.
