ColorChallenge - WednesdayYellow - UtahAgave
I seem to be in Grand Canyon mode...two posts in a row! We took a trip there a couple years ago and remains high on my list of places that are beyond compare.
We hiked 2000 feet down into the canyon on the Kaibab Trail. As you descend, the amount of trailmates decreases significantly and the quietness of this place takes over. You are surrounded by reds and oranges...layers and layers. It is truly an otherworldly experience. We made it down to Skeleton Point (ominous name, don't you think?) and were able to catch a glimpse of the Colorado River. What an excellent day that was! I recommend this hike to anyone is able...remember, what goes down, must go back up. Slow and steady wins the prize on this one.
I now come to my ColorChallenge - Wednesday Yellow photo of Utah Agave. These sunny spikes dotted our way down the trail. They reminded me of something you would find in a Dr. Seuss book. Can you see the winged creature? Buzz factor 12 on these bees or flies...I'm not sure what they were but they were certainly beefy!
