Colorchallenge || Saturday Indigo - Iris

in #colorchallenge6 years ago

Hello dear friends,

Today is Saturday, the Indigo day for the colorchallenge initiated by @kalemandra.

Since the pansy and lilac season is almost over, a new flower brings the Indigo to our attention, the beautiful Iris.

The Iris was named after the Greek godess of the rainbow, messenger of the gods. It is said that Iris is leading the souls of the deceased women to the Elysian fields. Since the godess was making a bridge between heaven and earth, the ancient greeks used to plant these flowers on the graves of dead girls and women in order to help the souls to find their path.

Today, the Iris is everywhere: gardens, parks, even in cemeteries (a proof that old believes never disappear).

I love these flowers. Here too you can find theme in graveyards.

They are magnificent, and so many colors.
