Color Challenge — Sunday Purple — The Beauty of Nature is ART!

It's Sunday, and don't really have much to share on the art front from the Red Dragonfly, so I turn to nature as art, instead.

Playing around with the macro setting on the camera, and seeing what we can come up with, using some cropping of the images, in the right place.

First up, some French lavender in the afternoon sun:

When you get close enough, the blooms actually look like they have little purple "sails" attached.

And yes, I am using these photos as part of @kalemandra's popular #colorchallenge, with today being the day for purple. Seems like a nice opportunity, as there are a lot of plants with purple flowers around here!

Next, we have this particularly beautiful purple Morning Glory:

With blooms almost 4" (10cm) across, this is not your common garden variety pink or white morning glory that grows as an invasive vine everywhere.

Found it very hard to keep this in focus, but this image turned out pretty well.

This last one is from a purple flowering Jacaranda tree:

I'm actually "cheating" slightly here, because even though I am the photographer, the photo isn't "new." I took it a while back while visiting my parents' place in the south of Spain (they retired there), at the time, the park-like grounds around their condo project was filled with these trees in full bloom, and in was a spectacular sight to behold.

The photo is just of the tip of a single branch, of a 40-foot tall and 50-foot across tree, and there were dozens of these trees!

And there we have it; some "Sunday Purple" for your viewing pleasure!

Thanks for checking in! I promise to start publishing some more of our "regular content" soon... alas, time is very scarce, these days.

I like the flowers from your parents place. The purple color splendid and so smooth :)

It was pretty spectacular to see all those trees in bloom, at the same time... and then there were yellow mimosas mixed in, for contrast.
