Colour Challenge: More from the Peat Bog
This is on the edge of the peat bog, where you can walk without getting stuck:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 45mm, ISO100, f8, 1/400s
Close to that there is a special habitat, where the acidic water from the peat bog meets the groundwater. The moorland spotted orchid (Dactylorhiza maculata), gevlekte bosorchis in Dutch, likes it there:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO100, f8, 1/800s
The butterfly in the photo is a silver-studded blue (Plebejus argus), heideblauwtje in Dutch. They usually live on heather, but this one decided to give the nearby orchids a go:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO100, f8, 1/500s
Enough purple for one day. Thanks for watching!
