📷 ColorChallenge - Thursday Green - Green Surroundings
And Stormy Day Out
This is my entry for #ColorChallenge initiated by @kalemandra, and inspired by @princessmewmew
One of the really lovely parts of out trip to Howick was how green everything was, not that it is a dry desert down here in Cape Town.
The area up there, know as the Kwazulu Natal is very tropical, I'm mean it's banana country for a reason. There's a monkey joke in there somewhere, and I would probably get crucified by the thought police if this were FB, thank God for Steemit and free speech. Sorry, back to my tale of this that are green. Due to the the climate here in the Mother City, we don't really get that much rain, It's insanely beautiful here, but not the lush forest kind of pretty.
We haven't been up there in ages, so the little things like really have a huge impact, the constant light rain all throughout the day was heavenly.
This probably has much to do with the mental and physiological impact the water shortage here is having on people. I mean there are people loosing their minds, stock piling water like there is there is no tomorrow. My personal view is that this is a form of implemented propaganda to make poor people even more dependent of the government. I know It's a probably a bit out there, but when some lies to 90% of the time what makes you sure the 10% is true, it's probably not.
The last photo was me trying to capture the lighting. Just after this is started raining again, even though the rain was coming down, we decided screw the rain, we are lighting a fire and having a BBQ. This was the most South African thing I have done in years, it was amazing.
"lighting a fire and having a BBQ" ... hmmm, not sure that's the most South African thing you could have done :P
Ok lighting a fire, having a braai, and then protesting for higher flames and free meat?
awesome photography post my steemit friend good
Yes
Next time you chaps are in town you should hit the Karkloof canopy tour. What's a BBQ?
The grass is greener on the other side
Ohohoo , Kruger is braaing ;)
