Colorchallenge - Wednesday yellow - yellow blossom of the Curcubita pepo

I made this foto while walking through a children's school garden as I explored the outskirts of Amsterdam. This is the beautiful flower of the courgette or zucchini plant (Curcubita pepo). The flower appears at the end of the plant and is edible and often used as a garnish. Isn't nature perfect - providing such aesthetically pleasing plants and food too. :)

      Why does it remind you of your childhood? I love the tradition here of school gardens - my daughter brought home a giant courgette one - perfect for soups
