Color Challenge: Sunday Purple - SALVIA
It´s Sunday once more and today´s color challenge by @kalemandra is PURPLE ! So here´s my contribution.
Their blooms are seen in soft to deep pinks or violets to purple and is a perrenial plant that grows in a rich soil in open grassland. In the early days during the medieval periods, their seeds are sowed in the churchyard or graveyards. There are around 600 salvia species that belong to the Mint family Lamiaceae.
This plant attracts so many insects and is a great pollinator, particularly they are so aromatic and they attract various kinds of bees . They can also self-pollinate and grow in groups on pathways, dunes, and roadsides.
Wild Salvia can be used to add flavoring to food. Among the health benefits offered are antibacterial, can reduce muscle tensions , and can even reduce menopausal symptoms.
