Color Challenge - Sunday Purple // Photography is about capturing souls not smiles

My friend and I decided to start a small photo shooting again. There are times when we find ourselves using the same lightning setup over and over again, which gets really boring over time. So it was time again to search on the internet for some fresh photography inspirations using different equipments for a whole new lighting setup. We came across a video where someone used coloured films over a flashlight to create a colourful lighting effect. So we recreated this stunning and yet simple idea of a lighting set up to achieve vibrant pictures.

To give the photo a `sweet´ personality we decided to go for a pink/purplish lighting as it complemented my make-up on that day. Colour has emotional value - when you see colour in a photo, you will have an emotional response to it, especially if colour has been used strongly in the composition. The same color may evoke different emotions depending on the context in which it´s used. It may also provoke different emotion responses in some people than others. But generally speaking colours provoke a near universal response.

Meaning of the colour Pink:

Pink, a delicate color that means sweet, nice, playful, cute, romantic, charming, feminine, and tenderness, is associated with flowers, cotton candy and sweetness. The colour pink is the color of universeal love of oneself and of others. Pink represents friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace, and approachability.

Meaning of the colour Purple:

Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. The color purple has a variety of effects on the mind and body, including uplifting spirits, calming the mind and nerves, enhancing the sacred, creating feelings of spirituality, increasing nurturing tendencies and sensitivity, and encouraging imagination and creativity.
