This plant is native to the tropical equatorial Asia, and you do not have to think about the botanical name of this plant while enjoying Nasi Kerabu (a kind of Malay rice dish), cooked with these indigo flowers.

Once upon a time, I had eaten Nasi Kerabu, and at that time I did not know the cause of the rice was blue. I just enjoy it because the rice is unique and unusual.
