My Indigo Lucy Cardigan SCOTTeVEST Travel Clothing that Works colorchallenge saturdayindigo

I have two Lucy Cardigans from SCOTTeVEST and one of them is indigo. It’s faded now to a lighter color – especially in the back. I wear it or the white one I have wherever I am outside in Thailand. I always wear one or the other. No exceptions.

You can see it is somewhat see-through and does not make me hot to wear it. On the other hand, it is also helpful on the few cold days we get here and protects me if we have a bitterly cold night below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The cowl neck looking area is a hood that goes over my head easily if I need it.

I took this photo when I was making videos for SCOTTeVEST promos in Northern Thailand last year. It is hard for me to find good places to film with good sound and this was an opportunity. I have a playlist of my SCOTTeVEST videos and this is one of them.

You are required to carry your passport in many countries but I normally do not. My passport is too valuable and heavy for daily adventures I only take it out with me for travel, immigration, and money changing. If I am carrying my passport, I am also wearing my SCOTTeVEST featherweight vest that has many more pockets in it than the cardigan.

I carry a certified copy from my embassy instead and keep it in one of the hidden pockets of my Lucy Cardigan. I also carry my hotel information in a business card. This way when someone needs to see it, I have it.

I’ve used my passport copy twice now at random checkpoints and it has passed me through. I helps that I am not drunk in a bar at 2 am when this happens. Normally whoever is checking passports is mortified to be stopping my little old lady self at all, and barely looks at my passport copy anyway. I am not who they are looking for.

My Lucy Cardigan serves to protect me from the elements of heat, cold, sun, and rain unless they are very extreme. Here I am walking in downtown Amphoe Phen Thailand in extreme heat and sun while my Lucy Cardigan protects me.
