Wednesday Yellow Colorchallenge: Ixora from my garden
Ixora are beautiful flowers. They are found in many beautiful colours like red, pink, white and yellow. Luckily my garden has an assorted ixora colour collection. The yellow looks very pretty. Here are some pictures for the #colorchallenge #wednesdayyellow

Nomenclature
The scientific name is
Ixora coccinea
Other common names are: jungle geranium, flame of the woods or jungle flame.
Uses:
The flowers, leaves, roots, and the stem are used to treat various ailments in the Indian traditional system of medicine, the Ayurveda, and in various folk medicines. The fruits, when fully ripe, are used as a dietary source. (source)
The phytochemicals that the plant has include anthocyanins and antioxidants like some polyphenols.
