Pretty. Deadly.

This is Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria), a common, hallucinogenic, toxic, and potentially fatal mushroom. Often just called "amanita" or "fly amanita," it was historically used to poison flies. Sure is pretty, though!

These photos were taken above Copper Mountain, Colorado, in August of 2017.
