My Dad had the Renault 4cv ( several of them) We would put the Dauphine( as above) Gordini Motors in them, with Home made Manifolds, Branches and modified Ford Flathead V8 Carburettor 's. The Mini - Coopers had just come out , had no problem seeing them off!
Wow that must be a great feeling seeing the Cooper off as they were quite nippy at that time!
Our only problem was the 3 speed gearbox in the 4CV. BTW also designed by Dr. Porsche, when he was held as a P.O.W. in a jail in France!
