This assemblage was made today for the 'Color Challenge for Steemians.' presented by @kalemandra. Today's Color Challenge is Wednesday Yellow.

Materials: Crystal obélisque, citrine, amethyst, rose quartz and Sedona rock pieces. With seeds, dried hydrangeas and rose petals on yellow paper.

About my work.
Relatively small assemblages or arrangements are constructed from flowers, weeds and plants, combined with other natural materials that I find in the local bushland or surrounding urban streets.

I often use bits and pieces that I gather from the local bushland in my assemblages and flatlays ~ Some of which are not considered to be typically 'beautiful' but it's all in the preparation, presentation, and mainly the 'seeing.' 🌿🍂🌿
The 'You see vs I see' concept was love at first read for me. It has so much potential for people who can look a bit deeper into an image than what meets the eye at first glance. 💖

Thank you! I will look into that. A Great artist is able to see beauty where others can't and then share that beauty with those who were blind to it.
It took me a long time to understand that we all see what we think is the same thing, person, object or situation quite differently ~ In a way that is unique to our being, background and environment.
Steemit is a wonderful platform for us all to find ways to express what is unique in our seeing and understanding ~ To extend our thinking and perception ~ To find coherence.

I could not have said it better! That is why I love to meet new people and have very open discussions. It helps in gaining more understanding. Not just about the person or topic but also about ourselves. In this way we can grow in understanding and gain empathy for our fellow man. Good, honest, open communication...and what better way to do that than through pictures. They are worth a thousand words after all!
Ok well to actually focus on the art. First off, I did finally come to realize the crystal in the center is Not the citrine lol. I didn't realize there was citrine in the mix because in the final, they are quite well camouflaged.
I really adore the simplicity of stage one!

Yes the citrine are the small yellow ones that can be seen more clearly at Stage 1. Yes I really like the simplicity at the early stages too. Towards the end my arrangements generally start to be over done but I like to push them till they begin to fall apart. 😊
You've hit the nail on the head Marilla. Most of my work is about building up the layers, so that the background is only partially or no longer visible. There is just about always some sort of structure in the background, that becomes hidden or merges with added layers, so camouflage is a great description, that I hadn't thought to use before. Thanks a million. 🙏 🙏 🙏

This was a new work, in a new series that I'm really excited about. Employing much the same methods as my assemblages with natural materials and water/ice, but now using only a simple piece of coloured paper for the background. And my new friend, Crystal obélisque.
I love how artists working in totally different fields can see the wonder of creativity in each other's work. Cheers 🍷

Thanks so much Suzette. This little piece was relatively simple compared to some of the other assemblages and flatlays I've made in the past. Learning to be simple is quite a discipline for me. 😊
I made a sculpture a few years ago now, with 4 pillars that were all three-sided. It was installed high on a cliff overlooking the ocean. From that work came the idea of making pillars that were four-sided and instead of being vertical, would gently narrow with their height. It was only later that I realized 'my idea' was actually an obélisque. And they date back to the ancient Egyptians.
It's been at the back of my mind for some time now, to make different obélisques in a similar way to the original 4 pillars. So including this little this little crystal obélisque in my arrangements has been for me quite a significant beginning. So pleased you see its beauty too. 🌹💖🌹
This is brilliant Ally ^_^ Love the final arrangement, while I enjoyed seeing the steps ;-) I was surprised to see that there was a particular arrangement on the second photo whereas I didn't noticed it in the final result, where I saw an enchanted randomness...
That leads me to think that even in the randomness that seems sometimes to occurs in our lives, there is a clever arrangement of the Universe that we don't see, a behind the scene, that once revealed, let us amazed and grateful...
