#Colorchallenge - Monday Red ( Red Skies)
The Day The Sky Turned Red - UK Apocalypse!
My entry to the Monday #colourchallenge post originally created by @kalemandra.
In October of 2017, the skies across parts of the UK appeared a strange reddish hue, to some signaling the sign of the apocalypse while to others (like myself that day) was a big 'WTF is going on!'.

I was at work during that day and almost everyone inn the office stopped what they were doing to take a look and snap pictures of the strange event.
We later found out that Storm Orphelia originating in the Azores, had dragged tropical air and dust from the sahara and made its way northwards. The dust got picked up into the air and went high up into the atmosphere, been dragged above the UK skies.
According the Met Office the majority of the dust was due to forest fires on the Iberian peninsula, which have sent debris into the air, and has been dragged north by Storm orphelia. A lot of cars were covered in dust making the environment look like a scene from Mad Max.
For the more scientifically curious ones out there, the dust has caused shorter-wavelength blue light to be scattered, making it appear red. the Met Office said.
“The same southernly winds that have brought us the current warmth have also drawn dust from the Sahara to our latitudes, and the dust scatters the blue light from the sun, letting more red light through much as at sunrise or sunset.”

Beautiful.. Red color is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. Red is a very emotionally intense color.
Thanks!.. that day was full of confusion and weird energies! lol
