This is what you get for climbing a mountain when you should be inside not freezing your ass off

If you’re dumb enough to climb mountains year-round like I am, at some point you’re just going to have to accept the fact that there are consequences and learn how to deal with ridiculously scenic views like this one:

The photo above looks south along the Mt. Sherman ridgeline in the Mosquito Range between Leadville and Fairplay, Colorado. You can see Mt. Sheridan on the right, and I believe the one poking up in the back is Horseshoe Mountain. That white stuff up in the sky is, of course, a chemtrail.

Here’s another outstanding view for which I have none to blame save myself:

That photo looks north along the same ridgeline. I’m fairly certain I was more or less direcly below Sherman’s summit at this point, so if I’m correct in my uncertain certainty then we’re seeing Gemini off in the distance there, but I'm probably not correct.

Anyhow, I somehow made it to the top of Sherman without getting blown off the ridge, so here is a summit shot that looks to the west:

Leadville is somewhere down there in the valley but it’s really small and hard to pick out, and I don’t feel like explaining its exact location right now, so you’re out of luck if Leadville is what you are looking for. I will say however that Mt. Massive is that big whitish lumpy thing on the horizon, and just beyond that you can see the ocean swells of the mighty Pacific.

Sometimes I’m amazed by how far I can see from the top of a mountain.

Wooow beautiful landscape! Nice photos :)

Thanks! One of these days I’ll learn my lesson and stop freezing my ass off in such beautiful landscapes :)
