Colombia's Armero Tragedy Kills 25,000 11-13-1985 (Volcano Nevado del Ruiz)
This tragedy is engraved deep in our subconscious, I was 3 years Old and have no recollection but remembered my mother Teresa talk about it a few times , she assisted in the relief effort as many other thousands . Colombia located in the Andes is prone to earthquakes but some are not aware of the power and destruction that "El Nevado del Ruiz" can cause every 400 years, erupting recently November 13,1985 sadly 27,000 people lost their lives that tragic day. We can learn from our mistakes.
Planet earth is living entity and we must respect it , in her own way she has patterns and cycles just like any other living organism with patterns and character. This is where knowledge and culture come in to play either from historical books, paintings in caves or our grandparents telling us stories in the middle of the tropical forest. I would like to bring awareness and education around the world.
Most of us are not conscious of the magnitude of this events , people in Hawaii near and around Kilauea volcano are in a vulnerable location and Hope nothing but their safety and great health. Sadly our brothers and sisters in Guatemala are going though a catastrophe and need our Help.
