Misconceptions of college life
1. Class is optional
It's up to you, but you should probably go. Going to class allows you the opportunity to create a relationship with your professor. All professors know the students who want to succeed. Go to class! It will pay off in the long run.
2. It's nothing like high school
Not everyone wants to be your friend. The jocks are going to hang out with the jocks, the cool kids with other cool kids and so on. If you do not find your niche within the first month, good luck. Try and make as many friends as possible and join every organization you can!

3. You can get into every party
Hollywood has made me believe that everyone is always invited to every party... EVER! Wrong, to get into any party you are going to need to know someone or be a member of the frat that is hosting the end of the semester banger. Join a fraternity and you will be fine.
4. Class is easy
Some classes are, but the majority require some effort and critical thinking. You need to apply yourself! College is not a 4 year party funded by your parents. Start the year strong and study hard. Trying to get that D bumped up to a B at the end of the semester never works out.
5. Drink all you want
College is a time for fun and experimentation, but you must learn balance young grasshopper. You can not expect to do well on a test when the night before you blacked out and lost a few friendships in the midst. DRINK RESPONSIBLY
