RE: Big Tech's Dangerous Influence: "Coming Between Us And Reality"

in #collapse7 years ago

To start, use the Brave browser...it doesn't let crap through.

You can add in Microsoft as the 5th behemoth in that mix...they have been data collecting for years.

I love tech knowing it is doing incredible things. The further we advance technologically, believe it or not, the faster and easier it is to destroy monopolies. Look at AT&T (Bell company at the time)....what did it take to destroy that 40 or 50 years ago...court action by the government. Today, we can see new technologies outwit even the largest of these outfits. That is why blockchain is so powerful...it really does allow us to establish entities that compete with these companies.

I am glad he mentioned data because that is one of the biggest things that will help to drive the blockchain. Personal data and the lack of control over it is getting a lot of publicity. That said, I believe people are going to, at some point, start rejecting those entities which collect and sell the data. Think about it, google has the data but we don't. I feel this could well start in the medical field since there are lots calling for the data such as researchers yet the owners, the medical conglomerates, won't share.

This shows the siloed effect of the internet. Each has staked a claim and put us in their ecosystem. That is where they get their value from.
