Thanks Dave. I'm not sure whether comparing houses and gold is that helpful. Our markets are so manipulated and house prices ridiculous. And of course for most of us for most of the last century home ownership was barely conceived of, it was generally renting. It is only for the baby boomers and forward who have eyed their house not as a home but as an investment. Their pension pot, heaven help them.
