According to Austria's largest digital money broker, Bitcoin should be regulated similarly to gold; must be subject to simpler compliance rules than stocks or debts.

According to the founders of Bitpanda GmbH, the laws on money laundering for crypto money transactions in the European Union (EU) over 10 thousand euros must be valid; the implementation of heavier financial standards may keep the emerging digital money market from growing.

"We want to be regulated, but until now, it has been told that this is not possible," Bitopanda's co-CEO Eric Demuth, who said "Regulation gives us more legitimacy," continued in an interview.
