A newly-published Western Union patent envisions a system that manages recurring transfer notifications and secure payments for a cryptocurrency network.
According to filing documents published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday, the Englewood, CO-based firm — the largest money transfer service in the world — has sought to devise a method to increase the security of electronic payments. The firm first applied for the patent in Dec. 2016.

2. Volkswagen Seeks Patent for Inter-Vehicular Blockchain Communications System

Volkswagen has applied for a patent allowing vehicles to communicate with each other through a blockchain-based network aimed to increase road safety by warning of nearby vehicles and alerting the driver to potential collisions.
The system could potentially be used to negotiate actions like merging lanes, overtaking, and a number of other high-risk activities on the road.

3. 내달 10일쯤 공인인증서 대신 블록체인인증으로 모바일뱅킹

다음달 10일쯤부터 공인인증서 대신 블록체인 인증서비스로 모바일뱅킹 서비스를 이용할 수 있게 된다. 금융거래가 많은 월말부터 새로운 서비스를 시행하면 혼란이 생길 수 있다는 우려 때문에 시행 시기를 조정했다.
5일 금융권에 따르면 은행들은 은행권 블록체인 공동인증 서비스인 ‘뱅크사인(BankSign)’을 다음달 10일쯤 한꺼번에 도입할 예정이다. 뱅크사인이 도입되면 수수료 없이 인증서를 발급받아 계좌조회, 이체 등 금융거래를 할 수 있다.
