Blockchain was a priority topic at Davos; a World Economic Forum survey suggested that 10 percent of global GDP will be stored on blockchain by 2027. Multiple governments have published reports on the potential implications of blockchain, and the past two years alone have seen more than half a million new publications on and 3.7 million Google search results for blockchain.
Blockchain is still three to five years away from feasibility at scale, primarily because of the difficulty of resolving the “coopetition” paradox to establish common standards.

2. A Long-Secret Bitcoin Key Is About to Be Revealed

it's not the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, it's a private key the cryptocurrency's creator entrusted to several bitcoin developers that activates the protocol's so-called "alert system," once used to flash a text warning to those running the software in case something happened that could impact the security of their funds.
As such, to some, the reveal – being undertaken by Bitcoin Core contributor Bryan Bishop – is a long time coming.
"It's time. I'm thinking about releasing the private key early July at Building on Bitcoin, though it's not finalized yet."

3. Walmart-Led Blockchain Effort Seeks Farm-to-Grocery-Aisle View of Food Supply Chain

Now, a year after initial tests, 10 of the world’s biggest companies, including Walmart Inc. and Nestlé SA, are building a blockchain to remake how the industry tracks food worldwide. The so-called Food Trust aims to improve recalls, quickly identifying the issue and shrinking the time consumers are at risk. Business benefits such as avoiding losses from overly broad food recalls are also expected.
The Food Trust group, which also includes Dole Food Co., Driscoll’s Inc., Golden State Foods, Kroger Co., McCormick and Co., McLane Co., Tyson Foods Inc. and Unilever NV, wants to set new standards for the rest of the food industry.
