"51% Attack" is bad, but have you heard of a "99.99% Attack"?🤔

Is that even possible?

The official story is that WaltonChain underwent an emergency hardfork after suffering a "coordinated attack" due to a bug exploit.

The first mention of the attack was posted on Reddit mentioning a "99.99% Attack". You can read more about it in a third party post-mortem.

Thankfully, the attack has been mitigated via a hard fork which fixed the issue.

Despite suffering a bug exploit and overwhelming attack, there is still strong from the Waltonchain community. The price did not slump following the hack, unlike most previous blockchain hacks.

@coingecko, interesting! 99.99% Attack is something insane! I will check now that WTC coin and will see what is its utility.

Rough day for the markets. Hopefully we don't lose too much ground after a solid month.

Depending on how you look. Bitcoin has done 3x just this Quarter alone.

51 percent attack is bad but 99.99 percent is horrible.. Is waltonchain centralized?

Waltchain is Proof of Work. In fact, there is a tutorial right here on Steem that shows us how to mine it https://steemit.com/mining/@proofmaster/how-to-mine-waltonchain.

From the report, the hack was caused by a bug exploit, we can't confirm if some mining giant literally 99.99% overwhelm Waltonchain's miners.

I was wondering where the 00.001% safe is after the hacking
