2018.01.27. 오전 2시 57분에 日 가상화폐 거래소 Coincheck에서 한화로 약 5700억원 상당의 NEM[뉴이코]이 해킹당하는 사건이 발생했습니다.
코인체크는 사고 발생 이후 오전 11시 25분쯤 이를 감지했다고 밝혔으며 NEM 이외에도 다른 모든 가상화폐 매매를 중단시켰습니다.
이번 코인체크 해킹 사건의 규모는 지난 2014년 발생한 일본 거래소 마운트곡스 해킹 사건으로 빠져나간 약 470억엔(약 4585억원)보다 크며, 월스트리트저널(WSJ)은 "지금까지 알려진 가상화폐 절도 사건 가운데 사상 최대로, 비트코인 등 가상화폐에 대한 열풍을 냉각시킬 수 있다”고 전했습니다.
