Why is PayPal Debit Declining Coinbase Purchases?
I figured since Coinbase was located in the USA and takes debit cards, there would be no problem funding a small purchase at Coinbase out with my shiny, new PayPal debit card. I had enough money in my PayPal to fund the small transaction. I've tested the debit card at a store, so I know it's valid and everything.
What's Up With PayPal and Coinbase?
HATES I GUESS
I even verified the card with Coinbase. Everything looked good until I noticed that the purchase had not gone through. Coinbase sent me an email to tell me that PayPal blocked it on their end. I Googled the situation and found that I'm not alone. Has anybody else run into this? More important, has anybody solved it?
Paypal doesnt condone crypto i believe... You can purchase crypto from 3rd parties aka from me to you but like from sites like coinbase... nah.
I had the sam eissue with my bank (wellsfargo) I had to call them and let them know it was me who was buying the stuff.. they just went thru procedures making sure i was the cardholder and that i made past recent purchases. Just get a blue bird card? Load it up with cash :)
I wondered if using a bank card would be better, but I guess not. It's weird because Coinbase makes a small withdrawal that you have to verify -- just like PayPal did when I first verified my account. Plus, I figured since Coinbase was in the US, they'd be fine with it. I guess PayPal may see them as eventual competition.
How would the Blue Bird card help?
Because it's not paypal... lol thats why xD
Paypal hates crypto lol.
I use my bank card lol. Paypal just hates crypto.
Gotcha. It's funny because it seems like Coinbase is trying to become the PayPal of crypto. Of course, I guess that's a problem for PayPal.
Yes coinbase is huge when it comes to buying crypto :)
You can try paxful if you wish to buy with paypal... but it has some fees.
Thats how i started tili moved to coinbase
LOL, I just noticed my Reddit post karma is "666" -- coincidence?
That's got to be it!
