How to Buy Bitcoin for Beginners

in #coinbase6 years ago

So you are ready to take the plunge into the realm of buying your first bitcoin...

The only problem is, you're not exactly sure where to begin or what to do with those pesky fiat currencies we call United States Dollars, Euros, British Pound, etc. And, you're probably asking if you can just use your debit/credit card like you do for everything else. The answer is that it is easier than you think and yes you can use your debit/credit cards. Enter Coinbase.

In this post I will be discussing the plain and simple way you can get to buying your first cryptocurrency as a beginner in this market of the future. I'll also tell you how you can get $10 in free bitcoin.

First, a little background to help you understand things and why I am recommending you start out with Coinbase.

It use to be that it was very hard for us to convert from paper notes and metal coins to these digital currencies. In fact, it was near impossible, as a matter of fact, most resources out there that allow you to exchange your notes for digital currencies require you use your bank account and do a transfer that can take 3-5 days, if not longer. With Coinbase you are able to use both a bank account (actually you must provide one) and debit/credit cards.

As with most transactions, it is going to be a bit more costly to use a card, than it is to use a bank transfer, but right now speed is the name of the game if you are trying to buy low and sell high.

It's actually pretty simple for anyone new to the realm to get started with buying their first Bitcoin.

1.) Signup for a free account at Coinbase
2.) Add and Bank and/or credit or debit card and verify them
3.) Buy your desired coin. As of 12/28/2017 you can buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and/or Bitcoin Cash. My recommendation is to buy Ethereum or Litecoin right now so you can save on transaction and miner fees. You'll see all your fees for buying and can adjust accordingly to your Coinbase Wallet at the time of purchase.
4.) That's it, you've officially bought your first cryptocurrency and can reap all the benefits and risk that come with it.

Not that hard right? I knew you would see it that way, which is why Coinbase is such a highly recommended service for beginners.

Oh, I did promise to tell you how you can get $10 in free Bitcoin. It's really simple actually, if you use this link: https://www.coinbase.com/join/54dc48d1b45693984f0001b1 and buy at least $100 dollars of bitcoin you'll get an additional $10 worth of Bitcoin free. That little cushion will be nice when you are wanting to transfer funds to your other wallets or to an exchange, they basically pay you your fees back. Now that is pretty cool! So go get your free Bitcoin today.

In our next article I'll discuss on moving your Bitcoin and other currency from Coinbase to your preferred wallet or to an exchange to buy your favorite Altcoin(s).
