RE: The sixth day of my trip to the coffee growing regions of Brazil - with me @c0ff33a ☕️
Going off what @trudyhunter was saying
Those coffee plantations seem to go on for miles
Um yes the sheer land size must be absolutely mindblowing... as with any crop... but according to Andrew Menke, the coffee industry has a global net worth of $20B...HOLY COW! That's annual so what is that, 20Billion acres or 20Billion @c0ff33a fruits picked per minute??lol
Thank you for the outstanding trip updates:)

Thank you very much, the global net worth of coffee might well be that much - but the majority is earned by global corporations and brands. The actual farms growing the coffee are struggling to survive on what they are paid per pound of green coffee - and many plantations are starting to change to other crops where they can get a decent return for their effort.

Oh wow that's incredibly sad!! I hate how the flow is backwards like that. Makes me want to pay the farmers double per ounce of green coffee and roast it myself. Thank you so much. You're definitely a coffee expert!
