Passionfruit in Taiwan 台灣的百香果
I feel so grateful to be living in Taiwan, a semi-tropical Fruit Kingdom, where thanks to the continuous efforts of the Council of Agriculture, many types of delicious, locally-grown fruit are available in all seasons. What's more, new varieties that are sweeter, larger and tastier come onto the market every year.
Today my wife and I enjoyed some of the last passionfruit of the season. After buying a few boxes from a relative down south, we have been gorging ourselves on the fragrant pulp for about a week.
Notice that the hard black seeds are inedible (and probably toxic). I slice my fruit open with a serrated bread knife and scoop out the pulp teaspoon by teaspoon. Mmm, sweet and tasty!
百香果的季節快到尾聲了,上個禮拜我跟我太太從南部的親戚那兒定了好幾箱水果,先跟朋友分一分,最後留三箱自己吃,好過癮!不知道,這種水果大陸是否買得到?
