The good and bad things about living in Japan

in #cn7 years ago (edited)

I have been living in Japan for quite a time. In the beginning, I felt everything is fresh and everything interested me a lot. After a while, the feeling began to fade away and now I could clam down and to tell the comparative objective truth to everyone about it.

Actually long time ago, I was about to write something about Japan, but I did not find a good chance to deliver it. Now I want to do it.

If you are interested in Japan, the country, or living in japan. I want to shed some light on it and help you understand the country better.

Merit  Etiquette

Anyone has ever been to Japan for travelling must know Japan is a country which is famous for its etiquette. Basically, they are very polite to everyone including the foreigners in the country.

When it is the first time you meet a person in japan, usually he/she will give you a huge bow. And the angle of the bow is quite exaggerated.

The custom of bowing in Japan is so prevailing in the country that even when they are on the phone they bow to a "nobody".

I used to laugh about the strange habits of them. But now I am like one of them bowing to "nobody" on the phone.

Demerit Restriction

If you have ever been to Japan, I think deep in your mind maybe you have noticed this restriction thing.

When everyone is so nice to you, you also have to become the "nice" guy, no matter who you are deep in your mind.

You have to be the guy never in others' way.

You have to be the guy always respect the others.

You have to be polite all the time.

And in the end the freshness and thrilling experience are all gone, what left is the sense of loss. You are not who you are.

That is actually a thing which bothers me sometimes living in the coutnr.

Summary

These are the things I have been thinking during my life in Japan. I would like to share more with you in the future.
