東平洲是香港最東北的島嶼，島上由以頁岩為主的沉積岩所形成、具數千萬年歷史；因此吸引地理考察和郊遊的市民前往。
Tung Ping Chau is the most north-eastern island in Hong Kong. The island is made up of sedimentary rocks, mainly shale, formed tens of million years ago. Therefore, it attracts tourists who are interested in geography and the nature.
