China
We moved to China August 2016. China is the most dreadful place I have ever lived. We only lived there for 6 months, but I felt as if the culture made people inhuman and cruel.
I felt this cruelty during a medical abortion in a Chinese hospital. During a routine ultrasound at 14 weeks, the doctor discovered that the fetus did not have a heartbeat. As a result, I had to have the fetal material extracted. The process was cruel and unusual punishment. Due to the lack of humanity in China and their blatant disrespect for women, we decided to move back to America.
But we did learn some things while living there. First off, American Chinese food is not real Chinese food. Chinese people have no clue what egg rolls are or what the hell orange chicken is or how it's made. Real Chinese food is bland, and soups are the main dish. I also find that there is a new level of nasty in that country that I have never experienced before in my life. We lived in Shenzhen and its suppose to be one of the cleanest cities in China. If this is the case, I would hate to see the rest of China.
We also learned that if you don't look Asian, you will be followed like you're a celebrity. Taxi drivers do not speak English, always have your destination translated into English. If you're fat, just stay out of China. Don't drink water that didn't come to you in a sealed bottle. And people there have no boundaries; people will consistently invade your personal space.
Despite all the negative that we experienced there, we did have some good moments. But we were happy to leave China and come back to America. We needed the break.
