Hera is the queen of the gods in ancient Greek mythology. She was crowned as the queen of all gods at her wedding with Zeus and is one of the twelve Olympian deities, primarily serving as the goddess of marriage. She shares equal status and glory with her husband, Zeus.

Hera was originally a gentle and docile girl, but she became suspicious and jealous because of Zeus. This originated from her husband’s flirtatious nature, as Zeus often deceived and seduced mortal or semi-divine women behind her back. Therefore, Hera was very displeased with Zeus’s infidelity. To ensure that her husband only had eyes for her, Hera even borrowed the golden girdle that enhanced one’s charm from Aphrodite, the goddess of love, to attract Zeus.

Hera resented every woman who had intimate relations with her husband and used her power and status to cruelly punish those women and their illegitimate children.
