世上最危险的鸟类, 一脚能踢穿铁板, 美军也被警告远离它 (The most dangerous bird in the world )

提起火鸡，大家或许都想起了美国感恩节，但动物界中也有一种动物叫“食火鸡”，但它不是鸡，而是鸟类。世界体型最大的鸟类除了鸵鸟和鸸鹋，其次就是它。虽然澳洲陆地上没有什么大型的食肉动物，但2007年，它被吉尼斯世界纪录收录进“世界上最危险的鸟类”。

食火鸡，学名叫是鹤鸵，也叫食火鸟，分布在澳大利亚和新几内亚岛。食火鸟的身高可达两米，体重五六十公斤，目前所知最重可达到80公斤，和普通成年男子相当。若跑起来，时速可达50公里。

食火鸡在未受打扰时较为温顺，但其它生物一旦靠近，便很可能被其视为威胁，继而发起攻击，它那12厘米长，像匕首一样锋利的爪可以轻而易举的把目标内脏钩出，传闻对付狗和马只需一击便可致命。

在第二次世界大战时，在新几内亚驻守的美军及澳军，都曾被警告要远离它们，以避免非战斗性减员。据最近20年的统计中，食火鸟发起221起袭击，有150起是对人而发，造成了很多人重伤甚至死亡，从此便有了“杀人鸟”的恶名。
（In the Second World War, U.S. and Australian troops stationed in New Guinea were warned to stay away from them in order to avoid the attrition of non-combatants.
