The Amazing Trip to Windsor Castle - Part IV/ 畅游温莎城堡 之四

Time really flies by when you have all these fabulous attractions to see! By the time we came out of the State Apartments, it was already getting dark. Creating a very different view of the exterior of the castle with a beautiful array of lights coming from the inside!

St George's Chapel

Further down the hill, there was St. George’s Chapel, yet another spectacular place to see. For centuries, it has hosted Royal weddings. And it is the designated venue for where Prince Harry will marry with Meghan Markle May this year! In addition, this is also used as the last resting place of many English kings and queens, which fills the place full of rich historical perspective.

It was amazing to just admire this stunning building from the outside. St. George’s Chapel is considered to be one of the finest examples of Gothic style architecture in all of England! What a magnificent chapel with such elegant and artistic glass windows!

Unfortunately by this point, it was past the closing time for the day, so we were not able to go inside. But I guess I can save something for next time as we already have the annual ticket passes!

If you come here early enough, you may be able to watch the Changing of the Guard at 11am near St George's Chapel. For people who don’t already know, the Changing of the Guard is a presentation of British pageantry which also has old-style military connotations. Check it out if you ever have the chance.

Windsor Castle is a real treasure and was a fantastic experience. I absolutely do highly recommend it! Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes as there are no resident cafes to relax in the castle, except for some shops.

Duchess of Cambridge

After visiting Windsor Castle, we needed to grab a bite to eat before heading back to London. Duchess of Cambridge is pretty much right opposite the Castle itself and caught our eyes with it's inviting restaurant front. It turned out to be a really great find!

The interior of the establishment is very warm and welcoming, featuring a hearty fire place in the front room to keep all the diners comfortable and happy! When we got inside, we realised it is actually much larger than what is appeared at first. Though due to its location on the main street of Windsor, it got busy rather quickly so we had to scramble to find seating pretty fast.

You will find all the traditional dishes on the menu but also a few select updated choices. And a good range of beers on offer as well!

For starters, we went for the roasted mushrooms in peppercorn sauce and pork & chorizo sausages. Both were incredibly flavoursome and delicious to the core!

For the main, I had the sticky slow-roast Pork Belly. It was fantastic, with cuts of beautiful soft fleshy meat inside and a crispy crackling skin on the outside. Just perfection! My husband went for the Ribeye steak which was also very juicy and tender. We were so hungry, we even ordered a third dish which is a chicken & bacon cobb salad. That did not disappoint either.

The ice cream desserts looked scrumptious from the menu images so we caved and ordered a finale to the grand main meal. It felt so refreshingly cool and was the perfect way to end this wonderful day at Windsor Castle! Until the next time!

时间过得真快，当我们走出国家套房的时候，天已经渐渐黑了下来。夕阳下的城堡在灯光的映照下显得美不胜收，形成了另一道风景。

圣乔治教堂

随后我们来到了圣乔治教堂。几个世纪以来，这里举办了不少皇家婚礼，也将会是今年五月份哈里王子与梅根结婚的指定场所哦！圣乔治教堂还是国葬陵墓，许多英国国王和王后都埋葬在这里。

圣乔治教堂被誉为英格兰哥德式教堂的最杰出的范例之一。抬头仰望，教堂有种高远莫测的神秘感，尤其是高处的彩色玻璃窗装饰，增添了几分典雅和华丽！

可惜我们错过了进入教堂参观的时间，只有下次吧。反正我们买的票一年之内有效，呵呵。

温莎城堡的皇家卫兵换岗早上11店开始，就在离圣乔治教堂不远的地方。卫兵们戴着黑熊皮帽，扛着上刺刀枪，皇家派头十足！有兴趣的朋友，不要错过哦！

这次来访英国皇家城堡温莎堡，收获不少。城堡之大，之壮观，之精致，真的很值得一看。除此之外，你还可以全面了解英国王室的生活情况哦！一个小小的温馨提示，建议大家穿着舒适的鞋子，因为城堡里面只有商店，没有可有坐下来歇息的咖啡厅。

剑桥公爵夫人餐馆

游览完温莎城堡后，我和先生才发觉肚子饿得咕咕直响了。我们决定先吃了晚餐再回伦敦。剑桥公爵夫人餐馆就在城堡的正对面，我被古香古色的门面吸引住，没多想就走了进去。

餐馆装饰很有圣诞节日氛围，入门的大厅有一个熊熊燃烧的火炉，看着特别舒适，非常有温馨家的感觉！走进餐馆才发现，里面比门面看到的大多了。由于餐馆在温莎堡的主街上，不一会儿，这里就挤满了人，非常热闹。
这里餐牌上有大部分英国传统的菜肴，也有一些自家的特色菜。啤酒和红酒种类也蛮多的选择的。

我们点了烤蘑菇和西班牙香肠作为前菜，非常美味。

我的主菜是英式脆皮烧肉，烧肉皮酥脆可口，皮下肥瘦相间的五花肉也相当嫩滑，很赞！我先生点了一个牛排，肉质鲜嫩多汁，也很不错。由于我们非常饿，还多叫了一个鸡肉培根沙拉作为青菜，呵呵。

美味的晚餐当然少不了甜点咯。餐馆自制的冰激凌，奶香味浓郁，有一种入口即化的清爽感觉，好吃得让人停不下来，呵呵。

这样我们就结束了在温莎城堡完美的一天！下次再见咯！
