Good post guys
Nice share
@kupi

Thanks! Enjoy :)

I think everything should be contributing to the application only can be considered useful.

well, so the questions is more like "is it always need to be useful" instead
like doing particle physics with studying gravitational waves are "useful"? or have any "applications"?
humm.......

This is indeed a huge topic.

Definitely no room for discussion on it in Hong Kong T.T
No application, no grant. full stop ! /.\ and the situation seems spreading round the world (?) (hopefully not?)
I am not saying that application is not good, but like...... we still need someone who is really work in basic science.

HK should be a place encouraging freedom of speech right? However whether or not the authorities will respect to the sound majority is always another matter.
I believe everything in science will eventually be contributive, just more or less.

Well, sadly, probably the majority is working in economic and finance.........
Haha, but I also work on the more application side of chemistry and still enjoying it ~ XDD

ok, now how do we see those molecules??

haha...... nice one
in the pass old days, we characterized them by NMR, which not really visualizing them, but it's a pretty well established way to tell how it looks like.

But now, we have atomic force microscopy, so probably we can really "see" them in this way

wow, i didnt know this!! so cooooollll

atom song...awesome~

這讓我想到以前我們幾個人的化學課本....

被畫滿了火柴人 XDDDD
還是這些?

這也太帥了吧!!!!!
