Previously, I worked in a bank doing rather a repetitive task of evaluating clients' portfolio that was due to human error. With global outsourcing and, of course, the rise of the machine, I saw an entire department of 10 people getting the golden handshakes.

That made me reevaluate my priorities and my commitment to my previous job. I realized that if you are not learning anything new from your job, you are actually stagnating. If you are not prepared, you'll eventually find yourself to be left behind.

The new world economy is a very scary one indeed where the ones who are the most adaptable will survive. Good luck to the "铁饭碗!" It doesn't work anymore in the 21st century.
