I went to https://get-scatter.com/Apps summarizing DAPPs on EOS, there are about 123 applications and most of them are gambles, games. They require users to be EOS account holders. However, to be an EOS account holder, you need to pay in exchange for EOS coins. In addition, most of the dapps require players to send EOS to certain accounts.

So there are two barriers here: first of all, clients need to pay to get an EOS account, second of all, clients need to pay coins before they can obtain any user experience on the DAPP. It looks the DAPP developing institutes are very short of money. Current situation has deviated far away from @dan's free to use physiology which is described in the eos whitepaper:

Application developers need the flexibility to offer users free services; users should not have to pay in order to use the platform or benefit from its services. A blockchain platform that is free to use for users will likely gain more widespread adoption. Developers and businesses can then create effective monetization strategies.

Yes, it takes about 0.1 eos to open an eos account, but this would make people feel inconvenient and uncomfortable. Dapps should give clients months to get perception whether they like the game. Asking people to send eos in the earlier stage would intimidate them from stepping further into eos backed applications.

Current practice would stop many people from access to eos blockchain before they can experience it. Thus it would block the spread of this new technology.

I would suggest to allocate free ram for new account storage. I also suggest that there is a mechanism for DAPP developers to apply for more delegated EOS to them so that they can stake EOS for their clients in order to get net and cpu. These delegated EOS can be free for only once for each new DAPP to help them provide a 'honeymoon' service to their clients. After this honeymoon period, if the clients feel like it, they can buy in EOS for use of resource.

These DAPPs can issue coins based on EOS, they can use their ico in exchange of delegated EOS so that people who delegate EOS to these new DAPP can be compensated by these coins. This is like somehow investment on ico but won't lose anything. If the DAPP is proved to be worthless, the only thing people lose is the chance to get EOS if they delegate to others. Otherwise, they will get a large wealth free of charge.

天下没有免费的午餐,谁会良心发现去免费代理eos给这些新生dapp开发者呢?我觉得dapp可以在eos上发行自己的ico。然后人们用代理EOS给他们的方式去换取新发行的币。这对代理给他们的人,是一种投资,他们通过把自己的eos代理给dapp开发者,换取ico,如果这个应用被证明毫无价值,那么投资人失去的就是把eos租给别人的收入,如果这个应用被证明很有价值,用户们趋之如鹜,那么这个币对投资人来说就是一笔财富了。

Not wanting to compete with our steemit, but I think EOS has a huge potential for growth. Entering at the beginning can be very advantageous in the future, even having to pay at the entrance.

I think the current EOS situation is not what @dan wants. He proposed free entrance and use in the perspective of users.

I did not know about this initiative of @dan. Good to know that ideas are thinking about the community and the sense of making them grow.
