登高見博|谷哥点名#6风景 X 科學 /Climb high, see wide | Google challenge #6 Scenery X Science

再一次參加 @jubi 擧辨的谷哥点名活动 今次的題目是風景。

有追隨我的steemian 可能記得我説過

知識越多越高,才能看到更廣更多的事
登高見博,人生如是,學術研究也如是。

而我自己除了喜歡登高也喜歡海, 登高如果只是看山景或城市風景總是比不上辛苦登高後看到大海的感覺.

登高後那在山上居高臨下, 大地在我腳下,腳下城市在怎繁華這一秒也與我無關。而如果眼前是海景更加可以令我心神放鬆，呆呆的看著水流,看著各種船隻進出香港水域…看到海面這麼平靜不知不覺間與我產生共鳴, 無須費力卻能給人一種自然的安定。我平常是個十分緊張的人, 望著大海的廣闊,心中明白到自已的渺少, 沒有什麼值得放棄那麼多來辛苦自己了，風風雨雨都先一掃而空吧。特別在日落前吧.

來了這麼久是時間來點科學吧 XD

那麼為什麼日落時天空的顏色會有橙色呢？

白光以電磁波的形式從太陽出發，它包括所有可見光的光譜，顏色範圍從藍色到紅色。我們有些人可能會知道，藍光的波長比紅光相對較短。當光線穿過地球大氣層時，光線撞擊大氣中的分子並開始散射。由於藍光具有較短的波長，因此它們傾向於更多散射。這就是為什麼當我們在白天直視太陽的時候，太陽周圍的光更白，當我們遠離太陽時，天空變得更加藍色。

光的散射與光線通過大氣並到達我們眼睛的氣量成比例。當太陽落山或升起時，太陽的白光在大氣中通過大氣的量更多，使大部分其他顏色的光分散得更多，留下橙色或紅色的顏色，這就是為什麼我們在日出日落那段時間能看到天空橙色。

Those steemians who followed me might recall my saying of climb high and see wide.

Apart from climbing high, I also like to look at the sea. Hiking to a mountain top to look at mountain view or city view can never compete with the ones when we face the sea. That sensation of being on top, where everything is so tiny, so irrelevant to me. Merely sitting and staring at the water flow and the ships going in and out of Hong Kong can generate the indescribable calm for us. I myself is a very nervous guy, but when I am faced with the vast open water body, I will understand how tiny I am, and nothings could distract me from this slight piece of mind. Especially when the sun is about to set

Well, it’s about time we get some science in here XD

So why is the sky orange in color during sunset?

White light travel from the sun in form of electromagnetic waves, and it includes all the visible light spectrum, color ranging from blue to red. As some of us may know, blue light has a relatively shorter wavelength than red light. And when the light is traveling through the earth atmosphere, the light hits the molecules in the atmosphere and begin to scatter. As blue light has shorter wavelengths, they tends to scatter more. This explains why when we look directly at the sun during day time, the light surrounding the sun is more white, while when we look further away from the sun, the sky becomes more blue.

This scattering of light is proportional to the amount of atmosphere the light travel through and reaches our eye. When the sun is setting or rising, the white light from the sun travel a lot more in the atmosphere, making most of the other color of the light scattered more, leaving behind the color orange or red, and that’s why we see the sky orange during those time.
