Idiom: All dogs have their days.

Explanation: One has made great progress in a short period of time and should be treated differently.

Xiao Liu has just graduated from university and entered a fortune 500 company. When people enter the society at the very first place, there are always some uncomfortable places. Xiao Liu is a newcomer, and the cooperation with his supervisor Mr. Wang goes not so well. However, Mr. Wang happens to be a hot-tempered man. Under the pressure of intense work, he has no patience to teach Xiao Liu how to do the work. He just considered Xiao Liu was not suitable for the job.

After the probation period, Mr. Wang gave the opinion that Xiao Liu was not qualified for the job and refused to accept the offer. However, the human resources department has a good impression on Xiao Liu, who is a loyal and steadfast young man. They wanted to give him another chance, so they transferred Xiao Liu to a branch office in another city.

With a depressed mood, Xiao Liu went to another branch of the city. This time, his supervisor Mr. Zhao is a highly skilled and benevolent person. Mr. Zhao has his own set of teaching methods, and he often helps Xiao Liu with his work. Xiao Liu is a studious young man. With the help of Mr. Zhao, he made rapid progress and his performance improved rapidly.

Three years later, Xiao Liu has been promoted to department manager in the branch company, and he is the youngest leader among middle managers. Not long after, the team led by Xiao Liu became the most outstanding department in the company.

At the annual meeting, Xiao Liu made a statement of performance analysis. His former supervisor Mr. Wang also attended the meeting. He was surprised and embarrassed to see Xiao Liu's progress, for Xiao Liu was now more senior than he was. Xiao Liu did not mind it at all. He said that he was growing up in the effort, and hoped Mr. Wang could no longer treat him as he used to.

Nothing is set in stone. Now, we use this idiom to describe rapid growth and progress in a short period of time.
