Wow man, awesome write up. I knew about the risk of an EMP taking out electronics, but I had never looked far into the details - now I know. I'm off-grid, so I have no worries of grid down, but I do have backup non-electrical systems in place for an EMP or other electrical failure. Thanks for the info @preppervetuk :)

Thanks. A lot of info i collected whilst in the Military, spent the last couple of weeks revisiting information and doing some research... Its definately a threat, but there is so much conflicting information out there, pointing to the fact that until either an EMP or CME event actually happens in today's tech climate, we will never really be sure of the actual implications.... There are too many variables to give decisive answers....
What i did find out though was that it all comes down to the thickness & integrity of the shielding used.
