What is Coinbase? Purpose? Security?
Coinbase is a secure online platform for buying, selling, transferring, and storing digital currency.
Your exchanging US Dollar to for cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin or Litecoin. This is like trading USD for YEN.
Basically it’s your own personal bank on your iphone similar to paypal or venmo, but instead of using USD, the options are Bitcoin, Litecoin, BitcoinCash, and Ethereum.
These different coins can be directly purchased on the CoinBase App, with usd. The coin will then be under your ‘wallet’ tab. Your wallet is an online secure way of storing your purchased coins, to then be able to send to other wallets, or sell back to USD.
